About Us

The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the many needs of professional medical writers. AMWA provides education and training opportunities, resources, and a vast network of medical writers to its members.

North Central Chapter
The AMWA North Central Chapter is 1 of 16 chapters in the United States. Each chapter is organized and run by volunteer officers and committee members who offer their time and effort to making their chapter function.

The North Central chapter serves members in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and northern Wisconsin. It is a tax-exempt organization (EIN 27 2578246), and the Internal Revenue Service has determined that the North Central Chapter is a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).

The chapter has several members who work in a variety of settings, including universities, medical device companies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and research organizations. Many members are self-employed and work in diverse areas of biomedical communications.

Membership Directory

AMWA members who freelance can advertise their services in the Freelance Directory, which can be searched by potential clients at no charge.
